happy thanksgiving
Thanksgiving is the one family event that is non-negotiable, more so than Christmas. It's kind of funny, though, because in our family, every day is like Thanksgiving. We loves to eat! This is on New Year's Day, 2009, in Malaysia.

garter toss
My cousin Gary got married this weekend in Ohio. He had to toss the garter three times because he launched sling-shot style straight into the ceiling the first two times. I like this photo because of all the flashes going off, and the halo you get around the hired photographer's flash (on the left) looks like the arc Gary's arm is tracing.

family (shoe) tree
I spent a lot of time with family in San Francisco. This is one of my cousin's kids at an engagement party for another cousin.

relativity
My typical day the past few weeks involves coffee, lunch, coffee, dinner, and then QT with the love of my life.
The nice thing about being here in the Bay Area is that there are always surprise guests, like my cousin whom I saw a few weeks ago when I passed through DC.

besos, Buenos Aires
Today I am leaving Buenos Aires for...an undetermined amount of time. I am sad.

This is what I will miss more than anything in Buenos Aires. And believe me, I will miss a lot.

dreamers
I did not take this photo, because that's me, curled up with the niño Ethan.

My version of domestic bliss: someone else's baby, someone else's dog, and my gay roommate, napping after consuming three kilos of paella.

just one little puppy picture
I spent the better part of the week in deep conversation with this little girl.

That is what I do when I go home...I dress up my dog. As if she couldn't get any cuter.

yep, that's my pops
I spent a week in Illinois before returning to The Dirty South. My parents are just getting weirder and more awesome as we speak. This is my dad, dressed head-to-toe in camouflage gear, performing surgery on his camera.

Dad is a wildlife photographer, so he'll dress up like this, and sometimes he'll hide in the backyard in this camouflaged blind for hours, shooting birds.
Strange to think we're related.
