2011 oh my!
I just returned from a hectic 16-day trip and have about 1200 images to wade through. Get ready for the onslaught of stephotography!

goodbye summer
It hit 90 degrees last week on the first day of fall. But I think the summer is now officially over.

No more of these shenanigans.

the lone wolf
This first made me smile...and then it made me kind of sad.

Because really, if you're such a rebel, why did you come to Taste of Polonia? For the blintzes and terrific polka?

sorry
I couldn´t help it. I´m just like a ten-year-old boy. Also, it was a really long day and you know I hate shooting fashion, so this really cheered me up.

I was so shocked that I didn´t even think to go in and buy a tee-shirt.

working weekends
I have finally finished this shopping guide I've been shooting/writing. It was a ton of work, but fun. I tromped all around the upscale neighborhoods of the city, talked to some great designers, and ventured into a lot of beautiful stores.

I love this photo even though it's probably not publishable. And I've learned that wide-angle lenses are not great for shooting interiors. Everything always looked lopsided. I have to figure that one out still.

just one little puppy picture
I spent the better part of the week in deep conversation with this little girl.

That is what I do when I go home...I dress up my dog. As if she couldn't get any cuter.

yep, that's my pops
I spent a week in Illinois before returning to The Dirty South. My parents are just getting weirder and more awesome as we speak. This is my dad, dressed head-to-toe in camouflage gear, performing surgery on his camera.

Dad is a wildlife photographer, so he'll dress up like this, and sometimes he'll hide in the backyard in this camouflaged blind for hours, shooting birds.
Strange to think we're related.

more fashion week outtakes
Can you imagine being a runway model? BAFWeek was full of young girls gawking at models, having their photo taken with them. It was a little disheartening for me. If it's your dream to be tall, beautiful, and unnaturally thin, well...I don't know how you pursue those kinds of dreams.

I shot men's fashion on Thursday. It was a much better day than Wednesday, because I got much better positioning outside that press pit. See the beautiful boys of Hermanos Estebecorena I shot at Paper.

Stepping Into Haute Couture
I'm covering Buenos Aires Fashion Week this week for Paper Magazine. It has been a little rough. The first day, Wednesday, was a really difficult and frustrating--yet enlightening--day. But in addition to all the standard fare, I did get this photo, which I like a lot.

Hopefully on my next assignment I'll actually be able to get behind the curtain. That's where the really interesting stuff goes on.
